Aviaid Oil Systems and Ross Performance Parts Announce Strategic Merger to Enhance Global Market Reach

In a significant development highlighting the growing globalization of the performance and racing sectors, Aviaid Oil Systems based in Chatsworth, California, has officially merged its resources with Ross Performance Parts in Wodonga, Victoria, Australia.

Established in 1961, Aviaid Oil Systems pioneered dry sump technology to motorsports, solidifying its position as a vital contributor to the industry. The company has a rich history, supplying lubrication systems for iconic vehicles such as Carroll Shelby’s renowned Cobras and the LeMans-winning Ford GT-40 and collaborating with Bruce McLaren during the CanAm Series. Recently, Aviaid’s lubrication systems have been instrumental in powering the ‘Speed Demon’ streamliner, which is recognized as the fastest piston-powered vehicle in the world. This legacy of innovation is now set to merge with Ross Performance Parts, aiming to foster further advancements in the global marketplace.

Ross Performance Parts, (not to be confused with Ross Pistons), established in 1981, has emerged as a premier manufacturer of harmonic dampers, EFI trigger kits, and dry sump oil systems tailored for JDM and Euro vehicles. Top JDM tuning shops and drivers favor their products, featuring on cars that have set world records in drag racing for the fastest all-wheel drive and independent rear suspension. Additionally, renowned drift champions such as Daigo Saito and Ken Gushi rely on their components in Formula Drift competitions in the U.S. and Japan. After years of collaboration as a distributor for Aviaid pumps, this merger signifies a natural progression in their enduring partnership.

In announcing the merger, Ross CEO Cheyne Forbes remarked, “This merger marks a significant milestone for both organizations. By uniting our expertise and resources, we not only enhance the global presence of the Aviaid brand but also expand Ross Performance Parts’ footprint in the U.S. market, where we anticipate considerable growth opportunities. This is a beneficial development for our teams and customers alike.” John Schwarz, who has led Aviaid for the last 25 years, will continue to support the company in an advisory role, while the Chatsworth, CA facility is set to be expanded to accommodate the Ross Performance Parts product line.
