Petro-Canada Lubricants has assumed global management, marketing, and distribution of the Suniso® refrigeration lubricants brand, marking a new chapter for one of the HVAC-R industry’s longest-established product lines.

According to Suniso, the transition includes the transfer of the Suniso trademark and underlying technology from Sonneborn to Petro-Canada Lubricants, both of which are part of HF Sinclair Corporation. Petro-Canada Lubricants will now oversee global brand stewardship and supply Suniso products through its authorized distributor network.

Suniso has a history spanning more than 90 years and is widely recognized for its use in refrigeration and air-conditioning compressors. The product line includes Suniso GS highly refined mineral oils and Suniso SL synthetic lubricants, which are designed to deliver thermal stability, cleanliness, and long service life in demanding HVAC-R applications.

Suniso stated that Petro-Canada Lubricants’ global footprint and technical capabilities are expected to strengthen product availability and customer support while maintaining continuity for existing customers. Branding and packaging updates are planned as part of the transition, with product formulations remaining unchanged.

The company also noted that the Suniso portfolio will complement Petro-Canada Lubricants’ existing refrigeration lubricant offerings, providing distributors and end users with a broader range of solutions supported by a single global organization.

Suniso emphasized that the transition is intended to preserve the brand’s legacy while positioning it for long-term growth under Petro-Canada Lubricants’ management.
