Lubrizol announced plans to make a multi-million-dollar investment to elevate its global headquarters campus in Wickliffe, Ohio, reinforcing the company’s long-standing presence in Northeast Ohio as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028.

According to the company, the investment will support a series of facility upgrades at the Wickliffe site and will include the integration of employees and capabilities from its Brecksville, Ohio facility. The project is expected to be completed in phases over the next two years.

Consolidation of Northeast Ohio Operations

As part of the initiative, Lubrizol said it will relocate employees currently based in Brecksville to the Wickliffe headquarters campus. Once complete, the consolidation will allow more than 1,000 of the company’s Northeast Ohio personnel to work from a single location.

Lubrizol indicated that bringing teams together on one campus is intended to improve collaboration, strengthen connectivity across functions, and enhance the employee and customer experience. President and Chief Executive Officer Rebecca Liebert said the move is designed to unite teams “under one roof” and support a more connected organization.

Planned Campus Enhancements

Lubrizol said the investment will include enhancements to laboratory facilities and expanded innovation capabilities, along with upgrades to workspaces and collaboration areas. The company also plans to add a Lubrizol Experience Center at the Wickliffe campus, intended to showcase its technologies and capabilities for customers and partners.

Additional improvements described by the company include interactive workspaces, renovated on-site cafeterias, and a multipurpose space to support meetings and events.

Continued Commitment to Northeast Ohio

Lubrizol is one of the largest employers in Lake County, Ohio, and company officials said the investment reflects continued confidence in the region’s workforce and business environment. In the announcement, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said the project builds on Lubrizol’s long-standing presence in the state and highlights Ohio’s competitiveness as a location for global companies.

Lubrizol also said it will continue operations at its Painesville and Avon Lake locations as part of its broader Northeast Ohio footprint.

Founded in 1928, Lubrizol operates globally across a range of markets, including transportation, industrial, and consumer applications. The company said the headquarters investment is intended to support long-term growth, collaboration, and adaptability as customer needs and technologies continue to evolve.

Lubrizol indicated that the upgrades to its Wickliffe campus will help position the company to better serve customers worldwide while strengthening its internal innovation and operational capabilities.
