ProFluid, a leader in specialty lubricants and industrial fluid solutions, announces the appointment of Jacob Bonta, CLGS, as Vice President of Technology and Research & Development.
In this role, Bonta will lead ProFluid’s technology strategy and R&D efforts, with a focus on advanced additive, grease, and lubricant formulation; development and optimization of grease and additive components; product and process innovation; and the advancement of next-generation technologies supporting industrial, automotive, and emerging applications.

Bonta brings more than a decade of hands-on formulation, research, and leadership experience across lubricating greases, industrial fluids, coatings, and specialty chemical products. Most recently, he served as Lead Formulation Scientist for Industrial Fluids and Greases at Valvoline Global Operations, where he directed new product development, managed intellectual property generation through patents, and led fundamental research initiatives supporting global markets.
“As ProFluid continues to grow, investing in technology and innovation is essential,” said Steve Plitt, CEO and Owner of ProFluid. “Jacob’s deep expertise in lubricant formulation, grease technology, and applied research strengthens our ability to translate advanced science into reliable, high-performance products. His leadership will help drive our technology strategy forward as we expand our capabilities and deliver greater value to our customers.”

He also serves as Technical Editor for grease technology at STLE’s Tribology & Lubrication Technology (TLT) Magazine and holds NLGI Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist credentials.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University and is completing his Ph.D. in Materials Science at the University of Kentucky, with research focused on the rheology, structure, and performance of lubricating greases.
“I’m excited to join ProFluid at a time when the industry is facing both new challenges and unprecedented opportunities,” said Bonta. “I look forward to working with the team to advance ProFluid’s technology platform and develop innovative products that create real value for customers.”
