ESL TEKnologies LLC Increases its Ownership Base and Elects a New Member to its Board of Advisors
ESL TEKnologies (ESLT) LLC announced today that the company has finalized a new ownership position and Board of Advisors role with Douglas Oehler, a founding member and formerly EVP of RelaDyne LLC, headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Oehler is currently an industry consultant and has worked closely with ESLT since 2017. That relationship led to a merger of ESLT’s sales and marketing activities with Amalie into RelaDyne’s sales and marketing activities in 2018.

“The discontinuance of our sales relationship with Amalie and the Barkett family was a very tough decision”, said John T (Cork) Jaeger Jr, ESLT’s founder and CEO. “However, this step allowed ESLT to confine its activities to technology development with a sales and marketing focus on value creation”, he further stated.
ESLT holds technology rights emanating from a Technology and Patent Agreement with Vanderbilt Chemicals, Norwalk CT. The agreement contemplates the development of sustainable finished lubricants for passenger car motor oils (PCMO), heavy duty engine oils (HDEO), and hydraulic fluids (AWHYF). The firm is further distinguished by the quality and involvement of its long-term advisors and investors dating back to 2009.
“I have worked very closely with the ESLT team/board for several years. Over the past 12 months their commercial path, specifically for PCMO and AWHYF markets, has accelerated dramatically and are now positioned to bring value and a national organic growth impact on the lube business,” stated Oehler. Important to this growth, Oehler adds, “is ELST’s talent in forging creative strategic partnerships/transactions with large market makers.”
The ESLT low phosphorus high moly PCMO (LPHM) provides the unique combination of durability and sustainability. Field trials initiated in 2017 with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) have subjected the oil to approximately 5,000,000 traveled miles without incident. Further, the trials demonstrated a fuel economy improvement (FEI) of 2%. The oil is currently performing at an early stage within the dexos™1 Gen3 protocols and the results to date are very positive. Strong passing grades in the Sequence IVB wear, Sequence VIE fuel economy and Sequence IX LSPI protocols strengthen the potential “uniqueness” claim.
“Doug’s role is to utilize his vast industry knowledge and relationships to assist ESLT arrange these strategic partnerships/transactions that will make a national market impact for these sustainable finished lubes,” said Jaeger.
“The addition of Doug Oehler to the ESLT team is a major step forward to facilitate market entry for these sustainable product offerings,“ stated Glenn Mazzamaro, VP-petroleum additives at Vanderbilt Chemicals.
Oehler added, “I am appreciative of ESLT and Vanderbilt’s confidence in me and I look forward to a very busy period working together now and into the near term.”
