ELM Grease Capacity Expansion in Final Phase
The ELM capacity expansion is entering its final phase with the recent delivery of nearly one megawatts of microwave transmitters (generators). Especially designed grease reactors for manufacturing aluminum complex, and lithium, or lithium complex greases are installed incorporating 13 years of experience in the current grease plant.
Dr. Lou Honary, ELM president who is also the inventor of the microwave-based process believes that “this will be the first grease manufacturing plant that will have a fully sustainable process. It incorporates microwaves for energy efficient, safe and accurate reactions. It uses a proprietary water-less cooling system that eliminates the need for cooling jackets and water towers, and it relies on more effective paddle design for horizontal mixers for efficient finishing of grease.”

ELM has been a leading manufacturer of biobased grease in the United States and the new expansion incorporates innovative approaches to manufacturing grease. The result is high quality biobased greases at economical prices.
