Pilot Thomas Logistics Introduces SPX Super HD DF
New Formulation Aims to be the Mixed-Fleet, Mixed-Engine Solution for Commercial Customers
Pilot Thomas Logistics (PTL) has announced its launch of SPX Super HD DF, a revolutionary engine oil designed to provide exceptional protection for engines operating under varying loads, service conditions, and utilization of different fuel sources. The “DF” in the name SPX Super HD DF represents “Dual Fuel” to indicate this advancement in engine oil technology and application.
SPX Super HD DF is API licensed in the most current CK-4 category meeting warranty requirements for new diesel engines and is therefore compatible with EPA regulations and modern exhaust after treatment systems. It is backwards compatible to former API service categories making it appropriate for use in older diesel equipment without emissions control systems and older gasoline applications where the API SN service category is recommended. Additionally, this formulation is recommended for use in mobile natural gas engines and engines converted to natural gas manufactured by Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and Volvo.

SPX Super HD DF also provides strong resistance to viscosity and thermal breakdown at high temperatures. SPX Super HD DF is suitable for customers operating off-highway construction, earth-moving, and mining equipment and ideal for customers with buses, trucks, and/or auxiliary vehicles operating on natural gas in addition to diesel.
