Honda Racing Corporation USA joins forces with Phillips 66® Lubricants as the primary sponsor for #93 Acura MSR ARX–06

Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) is teaming up with Phillips 66 Lubricants as part of a season-long sponsorship and research and development deal.

HRC US and Phillips 66 will work together to craft the perfect engine oil formula specific to the Acura ARX-06. As the current oil supplier of Honda and Acura service centers, Phillips 66 Lubricants is excited to enhance its relationship with the Acura road car brand.

The HRC US partnership provides Phillips 66 Lubricants access to a ‘rolling laboratory’ in the Acura ARX-06 to learn and refine oil blends for race and road cars alike.

The #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06 will carry sponsorship from Phillips 66 Lubricants, though both Acura MSR GTP cars will work with Phillips 66 Lubricants to enhance performance and achieve results in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

This partnership comes as HRC US expands its role within the series from a manufacturer to take on a larger operational role and further develop personnel and technology for the hybrid electrified racing era. HRC US is further expanding the business side of its racing operations through sponsorship and B2B activities, accessories and planned merchandise. HRC US associates will race engineer the #93, while Acura Meyer Shank Racing will oversee the second Acura ARX-06, the #60.

David Salters (President, Honda Racing Corporation USA): “We are delighted to partner with the world class Phillips 66 Lubricants. This collaboration allows us to develop our people and technology further in a new era of running our pinnacle ARX-06 electrified race car. We are excited to work together with Phillips 66 Lubricants and use our cutting-edge electrified Acura ARX-06 racing car together as an agile test bed for the best innovations. Importantly this partnership helps us develop new commercial skills and opportunities within HRC US and our HRC US New Business Division”

Andy Giffhorn (Vice President, Phillips 66 Lubricants): “To collaborate with a long-term customer in the racing industry is beyond exciting. Not only are we providing oil for the Acura ARX-06, we’re working together to push the boundaries of innovation in vehicle performance through premium oil products.”
