Castrol announces grand opening of Castrol Americas Technology Center in Wayne, NJ

Today Castrol announced the grand opening of the Castrol Americas Technology Center, a 12,000 square foot, state-of-the-art laboratory to develop and test engine and driveline oils, industrial lubricants, and fluids for electric vehicles. The upgraded lab space – a $7.5M investment by bp – means that Castrol will have their automotive and industrial lubricant technology teams supporting the US, Canada, and Latin America all under one roof for the first time.

Private tours were conducted during the grand opening celebrations, providing the opportunity to explore the new space designed to support customer-focused solutions, active collaboration, and new technology development. Castrol teams using the lab in Wayne include over 25 Applied Science technologists working to deliver the best-in-class technology behind the Castrol brand.

“It’s great to see the opening of our new facility and have our technology teams based together in a new high-tech lab,” said Rebecca Yates, VP of Advanced Lubricants Products. “The lab will help us develop products to address the current and future needs of our customers.”

“The facilities will also be an amazing showcase to demonstrate our integrated technology expertise and innovative Castrol products to customers as we drive our business strategy forwards in the Americas,” added Andreas Osbar, CEO and President of Castrol Americas.

The investment in the Wayne facility is part of bp’s global investment in Castrol technology centers, including the UK, China, and Germany.
