Warren Distribution Announces Price Increase

Today, Warren Distribution announced a price increase of 8-12% on all lubricant products, depending on the product and package size. The new prices will go into effect with shipments on or after Monday, October 12, 2020.

Warren Distribution attributes the increase to a number of factors, one being the recent round of base oil posting increases. In addition, higher freight rates, and much greater demand for resin, caps and bottles due to the massive new/increased demand for cleaning/disinfecting products, which has caused the prices for those commodities to spike. And as is the case with nearly all businesses during the pandemic, the high cost to maintain safe operations and keep plant staffing levels sufficient to run as efficiently as possible.

AOCUSA /Amalie Announces Price Increase

On September 9, Amalie advised its customers that with the exception of grease, effective Friday, October 9, 2020, the price for all oil and automotive chemical products for its brands, as well as for all of its private labeled products will increase by forty cents ($0.40) a gallon. Effective Friday, October 9, 2020, its grease products will increase by five cents ($0.05) per pound. There will be no increase on the price for antifreeze and brake fluid.

Amalie attributes the need for the increases to the higher cost of additives, base oils, plastic resins, corrugated, and transportation.

Amalie’s price increase follows on the heels of Sinclair Lubricant’s announcement on September 4. (see below in Recent issues of JobbersWorld)
